Professor Mohamed Essaaidi is a leading figure in higher education and applied research in Morocco, committed to technological innovation, training scientific talent, and fostering synergies between research, industry, and sustainable development.
Holder of a PhD in Electrical Engineering, he started his academic career at Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and later joined ENSIAS – Mohammed V University of Rabat, contributing over a decade to applied research and top-tier engineering education.
He served as Director of the EMSI Group and as Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry Delegate, promoting Morocco’s innovation internationally. Currently, he coordinates the Interactive Digital Center Morocco with UM6P, applying immersive technologies, AI, and digital twins in education, industry, and territorial projects.
An internationally recognized researcher, Professor Essaaidi has authored over 330 publications on smart grids, IoT, cybersecurity, embedded systems, and blockchain. A Senior Member of the IEEE, he founded and chaired its Moroccan section and contributes to international committees on standardization, digital ethics, and technical cooperation.
On the Foundation’s Executive Committee, he brings strategic expertise in technological innovation, academic leadership, and international collaboration, advancing educational transformation grounded in digital sovereignty, responsible innovation, and South–South cooperation.
